Keeping Your Balance!

Yesterday I had a blast with my family at the lake. We hung out all day and I got burned to a crisp even though I put sunscreen lotion on. I am a true red neck, and red belly, and red legs, everything got burned but my sides. Which looks pretty funny considering it is white and the rest is red. But we had a blast.

One of the highlights was Kasha trying to get up on the water skies. She tried and tried and then she popped out of the water and was on her way till she leaned to far forward and fell. She did so great and kept on trying the whole time.

Later she finally came back to shore, I said great job and she said it was hard to stay balanced and then when I finally got up I didn’t know what to do to keep my balance.

I thought about that statement and how life seems to be a balancing act. You are trying to balance your job, family, marriage, friendships and the list goes on and on. It seems like this balancing act is filled with up and downs.

It is a struggle to keep the right balance. Through my day at the lake God spoke to me and said many people are trying to find balance. They are struggling just to get balance so that they can get up and yet once they are up they seem to fall right back down.

But what makes us unique is that we keep trying. Kasha tried and tried and then finally got up, and even after she fell again she still kept trying. Why ? Because she had friends and family gathered around her saying you can do it, keep it up. In fact Tracy was in the water coaching her and encouraging her.

In our everyday lives God has sent people to encourage us along the way. The encouragement is found through the church, you see life is hard to balance but there are people in the water right alongside you and in the boat who are encouraging you to keep going. To find balance is hard but know that we are cheering you on to keep trying and even when you get up and then fall again just keep trying and know that not only is the church cheering you on but also all of heaven is.

Hebrews 12: 1-3 Do you see what this means—all these pioneers who blazed the way, all these veterans cheering us on? It means we’d better get on with it. Strip down, start running—and never quit! No extra spiritual fat, no parasitic sins. Keep your eyes on Jesus, who both began and finished this race we’re in. Study how he did it. Because he never lost sight of where he was headed—that exhilarating finish in and with God—he could put up with anything along the way: Cross, shame, whatever. And now he’s there, in the place of honor, right alongside God. When you find yourselves flagging in your faith, go over that story again, item by item, that long litany of hostility he plowed through. That will shoot adrenaline into your souls!

So Keep getting back up and balance life and know that you are not alone but have people cheering you on.
